Museums:

• Friendship Museum – Organized in 1964 to gather, organize and display all historical memorabilia pertaining to the fishing village of Friendship, its history, origin and the world known Friendship Sloop.

• Owls Head Transportation Museum – A non-profit organization founded in 1974. Its purpose is to collect, preserve and exhibit pioneer aircraft, ground vehicles and engines significant to the evolution of transportation and/or the state of Maine.

• Farnsworth Art Museum – One of the finest regional art museums in the country with a specialized collection focusing on Maine's role in American art.

• Maine Lighthouse Museum – The proud home of the largest collection of lighthouse lenses, and one of the most important landmark collections of lighthouse artifacts and Coast Guard memorabilia in the United States. The collection was formerly displayed at the Shore Village Museum until its closing in October, 2004.

Antiques:

• Thomaston Place Auction Galleries – Specializes in Estate merchandise sold unreserved.

• 21 Main Antiques, Friendship – An eclectic collection of "treasures." Open Monday through Saturday 10–5, Summers only.

Lighthouses:

• Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse – The Friends of the Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse are currently working to restore the Keeper's house to be used as a museum.

• Owls Head Lighthouse – Located on the Muscle Ridge Channel and accessible to the public.

• Marshall Point Lighthouse – Offers a complete historical museum on the premises.

Activities:

• Flagship Cinemas, Rockland – 7 Theaters currently open, in the process of expanding.

• Maine Lobster Festival – Thousands of people visit Midcoast Maine every summer to celebrate Maine lobster and the local lobster industry.
